A New Voice from Old Nashville
Today's tune is by a different kind of "Country/Contemporary Christian" artist from Nashville. I lived in Nashville, for two years and EVERYBODY has a plan. It's rare to find a singer/songwriter that isn't looking for the next big break with a commercial radio lover's lament tune, a drinking/party song or something in iambic pentameter about a truck. Instead, David Barnes brings a nice, smooth funk to today's Countdown selection of a Harry Connick, Jr. tune released in 1992.
With a nice, tight rhythm track and some really cool background vocals comes No. 16 on The 2012 XMAS Countdown - I Pray On Christmas by David Barnes.
