No. 21 on The 2012 XMAS Countdown - Christina Aguilera & Dr. John Nail A Classic

Attention Christmas Loving Nomads Everywhere - Stop, Have A Seat & Turn Up The Volume

The original song Merry Christmas Baby, written by Lou Baxter and Johny Moore and recorded by  Moore's Three Blazers in 1947, has been covered by numerous artists over the years. Today's version combines the legendary blues/rock singer and boogie woogie piano player Dr. John with Christina Aguilera, one of the greatest contemporary R&B artists performing today. Some critics are annoyed by Aguielera's penchant for turning one syllable words into multisyllabic vocal gyrations of the first order. Having said that, one fact is indisputable. With power top to bottom and a four octave range, the girl can flat out (sang)! And when it comes to real piano playing and real blues singing, there simply is no one quite like Dr. John.

The brilliance of combining these two artists from two different generations shines through in a classic duet performance with some killer horns backing. No. 21 on The 2012 XMAS Countdown - Merry Christmas Baby by Christina Aguilera & Dr. John.
