No. 24 on The Top Twenty Five 2012 XMAS Countdown from The Nomad Architect

You Tube - Technology's Gift for Nomads & Music Lovers With Time On Their Hands

For Nomads who love music - and what Nomad worth his or her salt doesn't LOVE music? - You Tube is our doorway into a world replete with nuggets and treasures that we have stowed away in some huge box in the attic, old cassette tapes in a desk drawer or, if you are really old school, a dusty box of eight tracks in the back of the closet.  1967 - The Doors - When The Music's Over/Strange Days-  Eight Track - Red GTO. Life was good. But I digress. You Tube gives us access to tunes and videos we didn't realize even existed. Which brings me to today's music video. In 1992, Russ Taff, one of the truly great and unique voices in gospel music and the lead singer ('76-'81) for the pioneering contemporary Christan group The Imperials, recorded A Christmas Song, a unique compilation of Christmas tunes.

I could write an entire post about this great singer. Better to just let one of the cuts from the album speak for itself. So, from 1992, with a very tight, small jazz band, comes No. 24 on the 2012 XMAS Countdown - Angels We Have heard On High. And for those who care about  such things, yes, that is Guy Penrod, formerly of the Gaither Vocal Band and Bonnie Keen, a founding member of the great vocal group First Call, singing backup along with two other singers. It's all good.
